Antique Victorian Heart Shaped Date Locket in 10k Rose Gold / ca. 1901
Antique Victorian 10k rose gold heart shaped locket inscribed with the year "1901" on the front. The back features a monogram that looks like "A.C.G.", but it is hard to tell what the letters are! The inside of the locket features two sepia toned photos of an unknown but dapper man. This locket was likely engraved to commemorate the year of a wedding or another special date.
The piece measures 7/8" wide x 1" tall. It has a bail so that is may be worn on a chain. It is in very good condition for its age though there are some surface scratches and areas of discoloration on the inside. It closes with a firm snap. I do not believe the inner frame that holds the photos is made of gold, but the rest of it is.
It it not stamped but tests for 10k gold.
