Antique Victorian gold filled round locket by R.B. MacDonald company, founded in 1874 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The locket features a bright horseshoe motif decorated with white paste rhinestones. The locket measures 1-3/8” x 1-3/8” , and it has a bail to hang it on a chain.

The piece is in good condition for its age, with some scuffs, scratches are tarnish (see photos). It is in otherwise great condition, and securely closes with a snap. It does not include plastic inserts to hold photos.

The inside of the locket features a bumble bee stamp, the date 1874, the letters "RBM" on the top, and the letters "ATRICE" on the bottom. The combination of letters and the image of the bee stand for “Beatrice”. R.B. MacDonald company manufactured a collection of these “Little Beatrice” lockets, named after the maker's daughter, from 1904-1924.
