Striking antique Victorian era 14k yellow gold signet ring with an oval face engraved with the letter "H" or "G". The regal engraving matches the fabulously embossed shoulders, which feature Medusa in high relief on each side with beautiful texture.

The ring is a size 3.5 and would make a statement as a pinky ring or could be sized up a few sizes. The face of the signet measures 12.5 mm top to bottom x 9.8 mm wide. The shoulders taper from 11 mm to 2.7 mm at the base.

It is in great condition for its age, with only minor surface scratches and wear.

The inside of the ring is stamped with three interlocking rings. It tests for 14k yellow gold. This hallmark belonged to M.B. Bryant of New York.

From Lang Antiques: "Monroe B. Bryant got his start in the jewelry business in the 1840s. He formed the company in 1858 and by the late 1800s was a leading jeweler in New York City. He was an ardent abolitionist and one of the original founders of the Republican party, serving as a delegate at the very first Republican Convention in 1856. M.B. Bryant died in 1907 and at that time was known as “the oldest ring maker in America” according to his New York Times obituary."
