Substantial Art Nouveau oval shaped locket with decorative bail and 24" textured cable chain. The locket resembles a powerful yet feminine shield with sections of sharp marquise shapes contrasting with curving scroll work and bold, but delicate flowers. The decorative bail features natural, foliate etching.
The sizable locket measures 2-1/2" (including the bail) x 1-1/2" wide. It closes with a nice snap.
The locket is in excellent condition for its age, with some minor dings on the reverse side (see photos). The inside features a photo of a man and a woman on one side, and a woman and her children on the other. Very cute family. This locket speaks to us from the past.
