Antique 1920s Art Deco Engraved 10k Gold Kite Shaped Locket / Pendant / "M" Monogram
Substantial and unique 10k antique locket fob with a kite shaped design in rose colored gold. The face of the locket features rich yellow and white gold foliate accents in high relief with engraved details. The center of the locket features an engraved "M" with a shield shape black enamel frame. The mixture of textures and colors in this piece are so elegantly crafted.
But wait, it gets better! The back of the locket features a personal engraving: "Myrtle to Whitsel, 1920". Such a sweet piece. The inside has a photo of woman who I assume is Myrtle, but I cannot be sure. The photo is protected by a clear insert. There is space for an additional photo on the other side of the locket.
The locket measures 7/8" wide x 1-3/8" tall (including the bail). It closes with a firm snap.
It is in excellent condition for its age, with only minor surface scratches and wear, and some discoloration on the inside of the piece.
